Happy Half-Birthday, Little Man!

Ethan had his 6-month check-up today! He is 18lbs, 8oz and 28.5 inches long (97th percentile now for height!). He got three shots and did great. The Dr. said he can start eating solids three times a day now, and Cheerios if he can manage it! So far, I have only made him pumpkin, yams, bananas and applesauce, but now that he can start stage 2 baby foods, he will enjoy a wide variety, compliments of our new friend Nicole, who gave us LOTS of baby food!! He likes to "help" us by grabbing the spoon and pulling it toward his mouth.

I just looked today and his top left tooth is now through the gums, and the right one is close! Teething this time has been a breeze (other than a loss of some naptime!)

Ethan loves his new jumperoo toy and vibrating teether from Aunt Julie and Uncle Wally, as well as the old stationery entertainer. He loves it when we kiss him and pretend to eat him :) He also loves listening to music (we have special lullabies for naptime and bedtime), and taking a bath. He splashes and kicks so hard that at the end of it, there's hardly any water left in his tub! He is rolling all over the place now and we often find him in different places than where we left him!

He is sleeping great, 10 or 11 hours at night straight through. He sleeps on his stomach at night, crammed as far as he can get into a corner of the crib. We love spying on him when he first goes to bed, when he's grabbing his toes and laughing. Whenever he laughs all by himself, it makes us wonder what is so funny! He has also learned how to zorbert, and does so often in the carseat ;)

He got a new big boy carseat, which is much more comfortable for him than the little infant seat, which is only made for babies up to 29 inches.

We are having so much fun watching Ethan grow!
