A Tribute to Daddy

We had so much fun celebrating Greg on Father's Day! He had to work Sunday afternoon/evening, so we celebrated a day early. Actually, our celebration began Friday night with a trip to Out of This World Pizza, where we ate dinner and Ethan got to play his little heart out.

His favorite toys included a big yellow tractor, a red hammer, the kitchen play set, and the playhouses.

With the girlies.

Ready to do some construction (destruction?).

Daddy demonstrated how to ride the scooters.

On Saturday morning, we were up and at 'em early to have breakfast at Pine State Biscuits, a breakfast location we'd heard lots about, and were dieing to try (We are bigtime breakfast people. Brinner is a staple in our household!). We were surprised by how little seating there was, but a table opened up just as we finished ordering at the counter, so we snuck in and made ourselves at home, enjoying signature biscuit sandwiches and hash up. It was so much food we took home leftovers, including biscuits with baked apples and whipped cream topping. It made for a wonderful lunch!

No Father's Day would be complete without a trip to the Nike Employee Store... Greg was itching to spend his Employee of the Quarter gift certificate, and I let him choose his Father's Day gift. He picked what I would have gotten him anyway, but I knew he would enjoy getting to shop!

We spent the rest of the day napping and lazing around. Greg and Ethan put together my clothes rack for my maternity clothes, since our closets are all stuffed full already.

When all else fails, have the one-year-old read you the instructions...

I'm so thankful to have such a wonderful husband, who makes such a fun, hands-on daddy. Among other things, Greg has taught Ethan to high-5 (along with the sound effect "yeah!") and to bump knuckles (while saying "boom!"). He has also taught him to say pooh, and is working on the phrase, "Let's go change your butt." What a guy!
