Ethan's First Easter

For Ethan's first Easter, we took him on his first road trip to Santa Margarita! We planned to leave at 8am on Saturday morning. Ethan ate a good meal, got dressed and ready for travel, then treated daddy to a colossal diaper explosion. After he got dressed in travel outfit #2, and his dirty clothes were rinsed and left to soak, we made it out the door only 20 minutes behind schedule. Not bad!

Ethan spent the first half hour or so enjoying his playtime in the carseat. He is trying to focus his eyes more, and sometimes it's really hard!

Later, he took a nap between meals.

We made a couple of stops to tend to the little guy, arriving just an hour later than we would have sans baby. He loved spending time with Grandma and Grandpa Great, giving them lots of smiles and coos!

Then we went to Grandma and Papa's. Ethan met Aunt Dena for the first time. He was happy and talkative there, too. Glad he likes his family so much!

He smiled for Papa...

and for Grandma.

He met cousin William,

and saw Lucas and Allison again.

Alli was back to her old tricks.

Ethan sacked out on the bed in his Easter outfit from Grandma.

Then he watched Cade and Lucas hunt Easter eggs!

Uncle Mike and Aunt Dena caught a 17 lb catfish and brought it home to release in Papa Richard's pond. It was bigger than Ethan!

This one was a little less intimidating.

Daddy bundled him up. We're not used to such cold weather!

He met the boys...

and saw mommy's old playhouse.

All the cousins...

We made the trip home Sunday evening.

It was sad to leave, but good to get home.

  2. Great post! I love that it tells a story. My favorite shot is of Ethan trying to focus his eyes :)
