New York Day 3

Day 3 was a lot more low-key than the first two days. We slept late, took our time, and arrived in the city somewhere around lunchtime. We went straight up to Central Park. We'd planned on sampling authentic gelatto from an Italian chain located only in Italy, Paris and NY, but it was the coldest day yet and we were not in the mood for frozen treats. We took a nice walk through the park, then looked up some of the more famous museums on our way to find a bathroom. I know I haven't mentioned it a lot, but a large percentage of our time was spent looking for bathrooms. This time it was for Greg, for once.

Anyway, we found an awesome souvenir along the way, silk screen printing to look like graffiti on a subway map, purchased from a local college student selling them for his friend, the artist. It's a fabulously original work of art, right up our alley.

We really loved seeing all the fall colors in the park. It was so different from the rest of the city, we felt like we were in a whole different part of the country.

We picked up sandwiches and hot chocolate at a cafe near Carnegie Hall and got ourselves back to the hotel in time to relax for a couple of hours before coffee and dessert at the Ocean Place Resort & Spa, hosted by the bride's grandmother.
