Good Old-Fashioned Christmas

I know I'm super late with this...  Christmas time is always busy, and I took so many pictures, it was a little overwhelming to dig in!

We had another great trip to my parents' house in Mariposa this year, and we were so thrilled to get a couple of snow days too! Ethan and Madeleine loved getting to spend time with their cousins. They really look up to them and talk about them all the time. They're finally at the age where they remember everyone and the memories we are making with them.

And from a traveling standpoint, this was the best road trip we've made since adding kids to the mix. Everyone was cooperative and mostly asleep during drive time. We stopped in Napa on the way there and back to visit with Aunt Julie and Uncle Wally, which was really nice! We really enjoyed our visit with them, and it also made the trip seem so much more manageable.

We made the most of our time at the cabin with lots of snow play, a hunt for the perfect Christmas tree, making ornaments, decorating gingerbread cookies, eating great food, and playing with new toys, like Alli's cotton candy maker. :) Madeleine still talks about her big cousin Alli and how they read books together before "nap" (you know, the thing they said they were going to do after reading books together, and which they never got around to...). Ethan loved riding the quads with William and Lucas. Whenever he wears his camo shirt from Aunt Carrie and Uncle Eric, he never fails to point out that he looks like them. ;)

It was a great trip! Warning: Picture overload!
