We have had such odd weather here lately. Sun, rain, snow.... Snow, in March! Anyway, a couple weeks ago hubby had Saturday off. I was so excited to have a weekend day together, and then I got sick on Friday. And worse on Saturday. I was so bummed. I had lots of fun ideas for the day, but it was raining and I didn't feel good. In fact, I couldn't get motivated to leave the couch for a while. Then I had an inspiration. Toddlers are pretty easy to please, right? So with a few simple ideas, the day could still be really fun.
First hubby took E to the store for some groceries and a "special" lunchtime treat, which I left up to him. While they were gone, I tidied up the house and built a fort out of the dining room table.
When the boys got home, I threw the corndog bites in the oven and fixed paper plates of "kid" food. We sat on blankets under the table to eat. Later, we made snowmen out of playdough, colored with crayons, and ended the evening by watching Finding Nemo. It was a fun rainy day!
