On a bit of a whim, we decided to take a 4-hour drive to Coos Bay, partly to try to see some whales off the coast, and partly to visit with some old college friends. We won't try to do that all in one day again... it was way too much time in the car! But it was a beautiful day, and we definitely want to return for a longer stay this summer. We didn't see any whales — they were already outta there.
