Sauvie's Island

Greg and I had an awesome date on Thursday, thanks to our friends who watched Ethan, along with their own 4 kids, for most of the day! It was such a nice, long break!

We started with a trip to Sauvie's Island, followed by my weekly doctor appointment and pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks (sooo good – like liquid pumpkin pie!!).

Sauvie's Island is famous for the corn maze in October. I'd heard that people get lost in there for hours, and I believe it.

 Lead the way, honey!

Nothin but corn...

6 days from my due date!

We got a map of the maze, which is a maze, so you still have to figure out how to get through it yourself. We made it about halfway out before getting hopelessly lost.

I have to admit, I felt a little thrill of panic set in. I mean, we had to leave in 45 minutes for a doctor appointment. We couldn't just wander around in here forever. And what if I went into labor?! Lucky for me, I have a husband with a great sense of direction. He basically just kept us going in the same direction for a while, until we found a landmark we recognized (there are a few in the middle of a corn maze, including open spaces we had passed before) and we found our way out at the entrance. We never did get to the exit, but it was fun!

It was also super muddy. The mud was so thick on our shoes, we could feel it weighing us down!

It was worse before... we'd already scraped them clean a couple times before this.

After the maze, we picked our pumpkins. We'll get the kids' later... today was just about us :)

I love fall so much. I love the holidays, and I never want this season to end! Bring on the rain and the cold gray skies... I love it!!
