Welcome to Oregon

It's been a looong time since I last blogged! We've had a lot going on, to say the least. Within two weeks we made a decision, packed up and moved to Portland, where Greg began a new job on the 17th, and I began freelancing on the 24th. Imagine packing up a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment where you've lived for five years, while hubby is at work and your two-and-a-half-month-old son is going through a needy, mommy-don't-put-me-down phase. We also had to find a place to live in Portland, make travel plans, book plane tickets, etc. Thank goodness for family and friends. A special thanks to my cousin Brittany for all of her help!

During our last two weeks, we said goodbye to old friends...

 Visited with family...

And did a LOT of packing...

For my first Mother's Day, Greg brought Krispy Kreme doughnuts (I'd been craving them!) and a rose, plus he made coffee, because you can't eat a doughnut without it! It was a sweet surprise, especially considering everything we had going on!

Now, we're all settled in to our new home. We live just outside of Portland, between Beaverton and Hillsboro, in the Rock Creek area. Our townhome is located in a beautiful apartment complex with grass, ponds, ducks (and baby ducks!), geese and lots of trees. We love it! (For those of you who are curious, Greg drove, and I flew with Ethan. He did GREAT!)

Greg found a soccer team to play with right away, and I have enjoyed getting to know new friends at church. There may be a possible book editing job in my future as a result! Ethan likes to go on walks outside and visit the ducks. He also just found his toes, which provides endless amusement :)

We miss our friends and family, but we know this is where we're meant to be. Everything is falling into place beautifully, and I am so thankful for the opportunity to stay home with Ethan, while also using my education and getting some intellectual stimulation through my freelance work. It's a win-win ;) We look forward to lots of visitors in the next couple of months. You're always welcome!
